There seems to be a lack of clarity surrounding ‘below dpc’ requirements. There are two parts to this: We are seeing mixed messages of how deep the channel needs to be excavated to satisfy PAS2035 as there is a lot of mixed messages from the industry and a lack of conclusive guidance? Is this still going to feature as a requirement in the re-draft of the PAS document and the much anticipated conventions? I know that some contractors currently aren’t pricing for this with their customers as it is not going to be feasible to dig channels around hundreds of properties at a time. If this convention remains they believe that some retrofit schemes will not go forward as the costs will become too high and the works too disruptive.
