NOCN Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit

The UK retrofit sector continues to be an exciting growth area, a rarity in such uncertain economic times. The government’s commitment to building a more sustainable economy and creating jobs means there is a lot of support for this promising industry.

But everyone involved in the retrofit sector needs to be aware that significant changes are being introduced this summer. From June 2021 retrofit operatives will be required to either hold an NVQ Level 2 or be able to demonstrate that they are working towards one.

This course is based on the full NVQ Level 2 in Insulation and Building Treatments, Building Construction, Defects and Interfaces and completing it will serve as a pre-qualification for the full NVQ. It will also count as proof operatives are working towards the necessary NVQ qualification and are on the pathway to PAS 2030 compliance.

Essential training and accreditation

This is a nationally-recognised course ideal for all those working in the domestic retrofit sector who do not currently hold any relevant domestic retrofit qualifications.

It will provide a comprehensive introduction to understanding domestic retrofit and has been designed to be delivered in 6 interactive eLearning sessions over a three day period, encompassing around 18 hours.

The course has been carefully designed to give you the necessary understanding of the PAS 2030 standard for installing energy retrofits for homes, without you needing to travel to a physical location or take too much time away from your work sites.

This is an excellent upskilling opportunity for those already working in retrofit, and is an important accreditation for workforces that are now required to provide a pathway to compliance with the revised PAS 2030 standard.

Eligibility criteria

We expect the course to be popular and places will be allocated to all eligible participants on a first come first serve basis. Participants must work or be available to work in the UK and have access to a computer and a reliable internet connection. The course is currently open for enrollment until 31st March 2021 and must be completed before 30th April 2021.
