A Retrofit Coordinator case study with Safeil Maqbool.
Over 80% of today’s existing dwellings will still be standing in 2050, and most of them are poorly insulated, inefficient, and reliant on fossil fuels. A thirty-year programme of retrofitting at least 25 million dwellings, to reduce energy demand and decarbonise emissions, is therefore essential to meet the national target. To take on this challenge we need an army of retrofit professionals determined to deliver accuracy and consistency. Safeil Maqbool is one of those professionals, already receiving glowing feedback and recognition from the auditing organisation: Trustmark.
Safeil obtained a First-Class Honours degree in Quantity Surveying and has maintained a trajectory of personal development by diversifying into the world of retrofit. He is currently undertaking his chartership with the CIOB and is also in the process of becoming qualified under the Competent Persons Scheme for the CIOB in Building Conservation. As a free-lance coordinator, Safeil ensures that his installers are fully aware of the requirements of PAS2035.
Recently, Safeil was acknowledged by Trustmark, for his ability to provide exemplary levels of coordination on his audits. He is currently involved in some exciting projects with local authorities regionally and nationally, as well as pilot project for BEIS. Safeil continues to develop relationships with new clients as part of the vision to develop his coordination service.
Since graduating with the Retrofit Academy, Saf Maqbool has been delivering whole house retrofit on a whole new level and has received glowing feedback. For Saf, it’s something he takes personally.
