Industry
We work with a range of businesses, from retrofit contractors to assessment, coordination and design companies. Our mission is to upskill their workforces for both the white and blue-collar roles they will need to deliver large retrofit programmes.
CLOSING THE RETROFIT SKILLS GAP
Research with our partners has identified the critical skills gaps that hold retrofit programmes back. The most urgent are:
1. Retrofit professional roles, specifically retrofit assessors, retrofit coordinators and retrofit designers
2. Trades roles relating to the installation of ventilation systems, solid wall insulation and heat pumps
We are working with the industry to identify where skills gaps are most acute across the country. By training new recruits to a high standard, The Retrofit Academy supports the sector and contributes to job creation.
The trade Skills the Industry Urgently Needs
Some of these specialisms are only beginning to establish best practice for retrofit projects, which make it essential to partner with workforce development specialists like The Retrofit Academy.
