The Retrofit Academy Awards 2022: Retrofit Rising Star
Congratulations Barbara Lantschner!
Those in the built industry may say that a generation of built environment professionals will soon exit, en masse, to a rightfully relaxing retirement, and it is the next generation who we will look to to expand and develop the innovations of today. Our Rising Star Award recognises the up-and-comers of the retrofit world, who are already making waves.
Our Judges’ Criteria:
- What has been achieved by the individual
- Their commitment to the sector
The standards of entrants was extremely high and the shortlist were all exceptional, and even a highly commended in this category presented to Gemma Sutherland, EQUANS. Yet, Barbara showed through her impressive portfolio, and ambassadorship of high quality retrofit in large and small voluntary and paid projects, that she is an inspirational Retrofit Coordinator. She pushes the agenda forward, proven in her role as Director of People Powered Retrofit and mentorship of other Retrofit Coordinators.
From all here at The Retrofit Academy: We’re sorry you couldn’t be at the awards ceremony Barbara, and hope that you felt our celebration of your commendable commitment to retrofit on the eve. Onwards and upwards!
The Retrofit Academy Awards 2022, celebrated all things retrofit! Bringing together the individuals, teams, organisations and projects that represented retrofit excellence over the past year.
We had the opportunity to speak to each of this year’s winners, listen to our conversation with our Rising Retrofit Star: Barbara!
“In order to avoid any performance gaps, the important thing is to fully understand what retrofit is. To fully understand what we have to do as professionals. That covers everything, from architects to installers, and to try to find the right training.”
Barbara Lantschner
