The Retrofit Professionals’ Hub – Home of the Community of Retrofit Best Practice

After six months of intensive development, The Retrofit Academy is delighted to announce the launch of the new Retrofit Professionals’ Hub (let’s call it ‘the Hub’ for short).

The Hub is an online membership platform that is a one-stop shop for support, networking and lifelong learning in retrofitting for retrofit advisors, assessors, coordinators and designers. It brings together a community of best practice driving retrofit quality at scale. It features brand-new CPD content and bite-size learning to provide retrofit professionals with a softer landing into practice. It also provides an interface between course graduates and employers, highlighting career opportunities. Plus, it will be home to more than 40 Retrofit Academy Forum and Club events per year, myriad technical discussion groups and case studies.

The Hub is free to access for Retrofit Academy learners, recent graduates, and corporate members, whilst former learners are also welcome to return.

It is also the new home of our Retrofit Careers Hub – the digital front door to the retrofit sector for those wanting to find out more about joining the retrofit revolution and how they might find their place in it. It provides free information, advice and guidance to new entrants and signposts them to the funding and employers that can help you kickstart your career and find the right job and workplace for you.

It represents a six-figure investment by The Retrofit Academy into supporting this community of practice and our customers. Moreover, the Hub launch comes alongside the introduction of our new TrustMark accreditation scheme for Retrofit Assessors and Coordinators and our new tiered membership structure that recognises experience and expertise from Student and Associate level, through to Practitioner level and ultimately to Fellowship. Combined, we believe these initiatives have the potential to change the game for retrofit in the UK.

The question is: why are we doing this? There are two parts to the answer:

1.

We need to improve the capabilities of retrofit professionals. They don’t currently receive the support they need beyond their initial training. Moreover, with retrofit being such a new discipline, there is an increasing need for the community to share knowledge and lessons learned. The Hub will support retrofit professionals from the start of their careers as retrofitters right through to their retirement, whether entering as an Associate member or a Fellow.

If you are a learner or member, you will shortly receive instructions on how to log in to the Retrofit Professionals’ Hub and an invitation for Thursday, 15th August, 2PM – 3PM for a sneak preview around the new platform.

If you are a previous learner or member and want to find out more, you can:
