Many organisations are urgently seeking skilled retrofitters for large-scale programmes, driven by the government’s investment of billions of pounds. With over 27 million homes in need of retrofitting, the current skills gap means much of the funding remains unspent because we lack the capacity and capability to deliver.
We have just 27 years to decarbonise our housing stock, and many places have set far more ambitious targets. To help the UK meet its goal, we’re building a network of franchised Retrofit Academy Hubs to tackle the huge workforce shortage, working closely with our partners to scale the output of skilled retrofitted.
Through our training network and training licence partnerships, we’re on a mission to train and develop 50,000 Retrofit Professionals by 2030.

Training Partner Licence
For colleges, universities and higher education institutions across the country, taking the leap of faith to start training retrofitters can appear risky and daunting. As the subject matter is unfamiliar, there are few training materials available, and demand from employers is not easy to identify.
Our training partnerships address all of these barriers head-on. We offer a franchise model with a comprehensive support package to nurture providers into the market to become Retrofit Academy Hubs.
Providing the highest-quality training materials and teaching resources in the sector, we supply ongoing learner and tutor support. We even link our key employer partners to our Hubs to drive demand for training and to create career opportunities for learners.
