MAKING AN IMPACT BY CLOSING THE RETROFIT SKILLS GAP

Research with our partners has identified the critical skills gaps that hold retrofit programmes back. The most urgent gaps are:

1. Retrofit professional roles, specifically retrofit assessors, retrofit coordinators and retrofit designers

2. Trades roles relating to the installation of ventilation systems, solid wall insulation and heat pumps

We are working with industry to identify where in the country these skills gaps are most acute. By training new recruits to a high standard, The Retrofit Academy is able to support the industry and support job creation.

The trade Skills the Industry Urgently Needs

Some of these specialisms are only beginning to establish best practice for retrofit projects, making it essential to partner with workforce development specialists like The Retrofit Academy.
